The Deployment Image Servicing and Management or DISM tool is a handy utility in Windows devices. It is designed by Microsoft to find and fix corrupt system files. - Wait until the tool has completed its initialization stage. And then, agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Select the Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, ISO file) for another PC option.
- Hit Next to proceed.
- After that, untick the Use the recommended options for this PC option.
- Change the Language, Edition, and Architecture settings and make sure they’re specific to your current OS version.
- Proceed by clicking Next.
- Select the ISO file option and hit Next.
- You should now see a Select a path pop up window. Select a location for the .ISO file.
- Click Next one last time and wait until the media creation tool is created. It is worth noting that this step is dependent on your internet connection because it will download the recent Windows 10 version before converting it into an ISO file. This may take hours to complete.
- Once the ISO file is created, exit the Windows 10 setup utility and use File Explorer to go to the ISO file location.
- Double-click on the file to mount it onto your device.
- Hit Yes when prompted.
- Once the installation media is created, press the Windows + R keys to launch the Run utility.
- Into the text field, input cmd and hit the CTRL + Shift + Enter keys.
- Once in the Command Prompt utility, input the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess Replace the value of X with the actual drive letter where you saved the ISO file.
- Wait until the scan is complete and restart your PC.
Solution #4: Refresh all Windows components
